Our Story

Glenmore House began as our family home, a place where we raised our four children over 17 joyful, challenging, and meaningful years. Every room holds memories. Every corner was designed to meet the needs of a growing family. Today, that same home has become something even more special: a safe, supportive space for children who need stability, care, and a fresh start. As both founders and directors, we bring a unique blend of personal experience and professional expertise to the home. With backgrounds in children’s education and well-being, we’ve spent our careers and our lives supporting young people. Opening Glenmore House as a residential children’s home felt like a natural extension of everything we believe in: that all children, no matter their background, deserve a place where they feel loved, safe, and able to thrive. Our Vision

We believe every child deserves a home where they feel safe, respected, and truly valued. We provide 24/7 therapeutic residential care for children aged 7 to 17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), many of whom have experienced trauma, disrupted attachments, or barriers to education. They don’t just need shelter they need connection, consistency, and space to heal. Our spacious, family style home in Barking offers just that. With only three children at a time, and features like two lounges, an entertainment room, a large garden, and a log cabin retreat, Glenmore House feels like a real home because it is. Using a trauma-informed, child-centred approach, we focus on helping each child feel secure, rebuild trust, and develop the confidence and life skills they need for a brighter future.
