Glenmore House

Glenmore House is more than just a residential care home, it’s a place designed for children to breathe, belong, and begin again. Set in a quiet corner of Barking, our home is spacious, thoughtfully laid out, and filled with warmth. Every room, every corner, and every routine has been shaped with one purpose in mind: to make children feel safe, respected, and truly at home. Unlike many residential settings, Glenmore House offers plenty of room to spread out and just be.

  • We have two lounge spaces, one for relaxing and winding down, and another for social connection, conversation, and shared activities.
  • The home opens out into a very large secluded private garden, perfect for outdoor play, quiet time, or getting involved in gardening projects.
  • At the back, a stunning log cabin retreat serves as a multi-purpose space — part chill-out zone, part creative studio, part peaceful hideaway. It’s a space children can make their own, whether they need reflection or fun. While the house is large, it never feels cold or clinical.
  • We keep it cosy, homely, and inviting, filled with small comforts and big heart. What truly makes Glenmore House special is the way it balances space and support. Children have room to be themselves — and a team beside them who believe in their potential, listen to their voice, and walk alongside them through their journey. Because healing starts with feeling safe — and every child deserves that space.

Providing care that fosters stability and growth for every child.

Our Story

Glenmore House was once our family home. It’s where we built our lives, raised our children, and created a space full of love, structure, and stability. Now, as directors, we’ve opened it up to children who deserve that same foundation, especially those who have faced trauma, instability, or loss. With professional careers and backgrounds in children’s education and well-being, and over 17 years of experience raising our own four children in this very house, we understand what it truly takes to create a safe, nurturing, and emotionally supportive environment.
