Residential Support Worker
Location: Barking, East London
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time / Permanent

We are a dedicated children’s home in Barking, providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for young people aged 8–18. Our mission is to help children thrive emotionally, socially, and educationally, while preparing them for a brighter future.
👩💼 The Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in the daily lives of our young residents. You’ll provide care, guidance, and encouragement, helping them build confidence and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting children with their daily routines, education, and personal development.
Promoting positive behaviour and safeguarding their wellbeing.
Building trusting relationships and acting as a role model.
Working as part of a team to deliver care plans and maintain a safe environment.
Assisting with household tasks and activities to create a homely atmosphere.
🎯 About You
We’re looking for someone compassionate, resilient, and committed to making a difference.
Essential Skills & Qualities:
Experience working with children or young people (residential care experience desirable).
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging behaviour.
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends.
A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
Requirements:
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
Relevant qualifications (NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People desirable, but training provided).
